New class options where YOU Set the Price!

Something new:
YOU GET TO SET THE PRICE WHEN YOU REGISTER!
I realize this COVID-19 crisis is impacting everyone financially in different ways. So let’s see how this goes. For these upcoming online classes, I’ll let YOU name the price when you sign up, based on your capacity to give to support my business and this class. 🙂

Kevin’s Classes – Rated 5 Stars! *****
Students Are Saying…
  • “I had the opportunity of participating in one of Kevin’s online Photography Essentials classes.  Kevin has adapted to online seamlessly.  He has an excellent command of technology and prepared very well to be able to present via Zoom.  Time spent in a chair at a computer was perfect for hearing his explanations, which were a perfect combination of some of the science behind photography, basic principles, and operational tips to put it all into practice.  There were a couple days between presentations for practice which was perfect.  Kevin is a solid photographer with clearly excellent depth and breadth of knowledge.  Yet he is able to perfectly tune the information he shares to fit the class without being overwhelming or too simple.  EVERY person at the end of the class made some kind of comment about understanding better than they did before.  Kevin is calm and patient in his teaching and NEVER makes a comments about having said something before.  He meets photographers where they are and instantly shifts the level of teaching to meet the needs of individual students, even with a broad level of experience in any one particular class.  As I don’t live in Austin, this has given me a great opportunity to learn from Kevin online.  I’m off to sign up for more classes…”
  • “I enjoyed the presentation and the class really helped me bring some concepts into focus.”
  • “Kevin’s expertise, material and presentation techniques all work very well with Zoom. I won’t hesitate to take additional classes via Zoom.”
  • “Kevin has done a great job in organizing the class content. He makes great effort to ensure we understand before moving onto the next step. Kevin doesn’t just provide some tips, he makes sure we know how and understand why, which is very helpful. Thank you so much, Kevin!”
  • “Kevin has so much experience and great tips for every issue you could possibly think of. He doesn’t only teach the theory, I could really tell that he actually DOES what he’s talking about – these are real tips from a real photographer.”

Online Class / Presentation: “Landscape / Nature Photography in the Colorado Rockies”

Hi friends!

As we all scramble to try to adapt to the economic and social impact of this COVID-19 Crisis, I have started to offer some online class options. This has most definitely been financially very tough for my business, and for many of you as well.

Yes! This is something a bit different:
An online / interactive webinar presentation where YOU set the price!

  • What: Online Interactive Webinar Presentation using Zoom Teleconferencing

  • Presented by: Professional Photographer Kevin Gourley
  • I have already hosted this online class twice! BUT if you’d like me to add another session, just let me know!
  • Price: YOU set the price! Whatever you’d like to contribute. Every bit helps. 🙂

Over the years, I have led many photographers on workshops in stunning Rocky Mountain National Park. In this session, I will tell you more about this magnificent park, share some stories about our adventures, and give you tips that are helpful for anyone interested in doing landscape, nature, and wildlife photography!

Please join me in this online session on Thursday April 16th. Sign up now! You are welcome to ask questions during the presentation. I intend for this to be an online learning opportunity for you all. ONLINE: Photography Essentials Class

UPDATE TO THIS POSTING:
YES I HAVE ADDED THIS CLASS! CLICK HERE

Hi friends,

I am considering offering some online teaching options over time, just to adapt to this COVID-19 crisis. Some classes just frankly don’t make sense to do online because they require direct hands-on help, like studio photography, speedlight/flash photography, etc. But other aspects of photography can be taught online.

My priority is (and always has been) to provide the best educational experience to help you become a better photographer. So I am considering offering an initial trial class, at a reduced price, just to see how it goes.

I am considering offering an online videoconference/webinar Photography Essentials Class, that involves two 2-hour sessions (4 hours total) for just $39. It would be covering the important aspects of effectively operating a camera (DSLR or Mirrorless) :

  • You Can Do Better Than “Fully Automatic”
  • Camera Exposure Modes for Better Exposure Control
    • Manual Exposure Mode
    • Aperture Priority Mode
    • Shutter Priority Mode
  • Managing Color with White Balance
  • Better Focusing Techniques
  • Lens Selection for Better Images

If you would be interested in my adding this class, please email me NOW at

If there is enough interest, I’ll arrange days and times that works for the people who responded. 🙂

THANK YOU!

Enjoying Our Texas Bird Photography Ranch Workshop

We’re having a great time at our Texas Bird Photography Ranch Workshop in Uvalde, TX right now!  We are at La Lomita Bird Photography Ranch, a 240-acre property with a large stand of Mesquite trees, shrubs, cactus, wildflowers and grass, making it one of the last natural habitats in the City of Uvalde. We’ve finished up with our first group of photographers and are now into our workshop for group #2.  Despite the forecasts of rain, the weather has cooperated very nicely for our groups!

And of course we had a non-winged visitor 🙂

The Mountains Are Calling and I Must Go

Kevin and Gail were superbly organized and prepared! It was a treat to be lead to the best spots at the optimum time of the day to photograph the spectacular beauty and wildlife in the park. They demonstrated great flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of the group with the ever changing clouds, weather, and wildlife. Participant Comments:

    • “The Rocky Mountain Photography Workshop turned out to be the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Rockies while learning with a small group of incredible photographers. I learned every day both from Kevin and other photographers in the small group. I cannot imagine a better opportunity than this workshop for photographers who love nature and want to hone their skills.”
    • “Kevin guided us to a variety of great photographic places when the lighting was ideal. We were able to photograph beautiful lake and mountain sunrises, a lot of wildlife including moose and many herds of elk. Kevin knew when to be at different areas when there were the best chances to see wildlife. Thanks Kevin for a great trip.”
    • “Kevin is an excellent workshop leader. He takes you to the best spots at the right time and gets you set up to get your best photos. Highly recommend.”
    • “The workshop was outstanding because we had total access to Kevin and Gail’s knowledge and experience in photography. We were presented with multiple shooting locations and lighting situations from which to learn. Kevin was always available to provide advice and help resolve any problems with camera settings or answer questions. The availability of daily photo reviews permitted one to make any adjustments to shooting techniques before the next day. This was the most hands-on learning experience I have had and I look forward to more with Kevin.”
    • “This workshop provided a broad depth of experiences in the RMNP because Kevin is so knowledgeable about the area and about the best way to photograph it. I really appreciated the care given to maximize each student’s experience, no matter their skill level. I will definitely consider taking other trips with Kevin and Gail.”
    • “Could not be happier with how the workshop turned out. Everyone involved was so nice and easy to get along with. Kevin was an excellent teacher – patient, explained well, relaxed and never felt rushed or that I may be holding others back. It was very rewarding and would highly recommend Kevin’s workshops!!”
    • “Kevin is a natural-born teacher and superbly facilitated the group while providing one-on-one attention. I learned a lot without feeling overwhelmed with technical details and had fun in the process. I highly recommend this workshop!”
    • “This exceeded all my expectations!”
    • “The natural beauty of RMNP was enhanced by Kevin’s knowledge of the park and locations that were custom picked for great photographic shots. Kevin’s calm, patient and knowledgeable teaching style meant that everyone, at whatever level they were at, felt comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, learning from them and then getting immeasurably better pictures as a result. The improvement in my photography from Day 1 to Day 4 was unbelievable. I came thinking the auto settings on my camera really took better pictures than I did, and I left seeing and believing that the pictures I now understood how to take were vastly superior to anything the camera could capture in auto mode. It was a 5 star experience from beginning to end.
    • “This is a workshop you can’t afford to miss! I came to the workshop with a goal of never using Auto settings again… I achieved that and more. Kevin is such a great teacher and is able to work with photographers of all levels. He made everyone comfortable, I am from Virginia and did not know anyone in the group (as were several others) by the end of the work shop I had made a group of new friends! We were able to get so many landscape and wildlife pictures. The whole experience was amazing. I’m ready to sign up for the next workshop! Thank you Kevin” – Barb

  • “The Rocky Mountain Summer Photography Workshop was an amazing experience! The success of the workshop begins with the organization and preparation of the instructor. Kevin and Gail were superbly organized and prepared! It was a treat to be lead to the best spots at the optimum time of the day to photograph the spectacular beauty and wildlife in the park. Not only can I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop, but I’m already scheduled for a Rocky Mountain Fall Photography Workshop with Kevin!”
  • “Thanks for another spectacularly successful workshop in Rocky Mountain National Park! The conditions were even more challenging than last Summer, yet everything progressed flawlessly. We were at the right place at the right time to capture some incredible images. Thanks for everything!”
