Student Comments:
"I have attended several classes with several teachers -all talented photographers. But Kevin is the best of all of them. Great and talented photographer PLUS great teacher.
"For years I have wanted to take a photography class, but was reluctant because I thought it would be too overwhelming and didn't have the confidence to do it. Kevin is very thorough and made me feel very comfortable about asking any questions I had. I am so glad I finally decided to take a class and came across Kevin Gourley Photography Workshops."
"Kevin is truly an expert in his field. His breadth of knowledge is based on many years of fine tuning his craft and he does a great job of breaking down complex information into simple tips that even newbies can understand."
"Kevin is amazing at teaching his craft. He explains things in ways that are easy to understand and exciting, bringing the ah-ha moments to a reality."
The Photography Experience
Sharpen your photography skills in bird photography at a wildlife ranch near Uvalde, TX with pro photographer and instructor Kevin Gourley. Escape the stress of city life by bringing the beauty of nature closer to your soul, and seeing the world through your lens.
We will venture into La Lomita Wildlife Photography Ranch, photographing from their photo blinds strategically placed at the ranch to take full advantage of the morning and evening light and draw birds. This ranch is ideal for regional and migrating birds and wildlife. The ranch owners will serve as our experienced guide, sharing their knowledge of wildlife and birds we'll see.
Not only is this a wonderful experience, but you'll create photographs and memories that you will take home with you and cherish for years, and you will improve your skills as a photographer.
Exclusive Opportunity: Workshop limited to 4 students. (You will not be with crowds of photographers.)
Standard Workshop Price also offers early registration discounts! Price includes the cost of the workshop, pre-trip interactive online meeting, use of the ranch, and guide services. Participants are responsible for lodging, meals, and transportation to/from Uvalde.
Lodging Hampton Inn in Uvalde, TX will serve as our "home base."
2025 Workshop Activities

General Schedule
Schedule is subject to modifications as needed, based on weather and other factors.
Prior to Workshop:
An online (via Zoom) teaching session prior to the trip (date/time t.b.d. - we'll pick that Zoom session date based on the needs of the participants who sign up) to discuss what photographic gear and what camera settings will ensure you get better shots!
Can't attend the online meeting? No need to worry! We'll also record it if you can't attend.
Also, I will also provide a private web page with detailed notes on essential information for getting great bird photos.
Also, you can ask questions anytime before the trip, such as about what lenses work best, etc.
