In Photography 201, we explore and revisit in more detail some of the technical aspects of photography to help further refine your skills while also expanding your thinking about the creative process which leads to outstanding images.
If you understand the basics of photography, how the shutter speed, aperture and ISO work, and are ready to move to the next level, then this is the class for you!
What are "outstanding" images?
Simply put, they are the photos that stand out as your very best shots! When you achieve that right combination of technical skills, managing light, applying photo editing techniques, all while mixing in a bit of creativity and your unique view of the world, you will increase your ability to create outstanding images!
We can't cover "everything you need to know" to create outstanding images in just one course. No single course can do that. Learning and improving is a journey of growth, discovery, and practice. This class helps move you further along on that journey. Journey with us!
This class was formerly our "Mastering the Fundamentals" Class, but now with some updated/expanded content.

Creativity
Author Brene Brown sums this up pretty well:
"There’s no such thing as creative people and non-creative people. There are only people who use their creativity and people who don’t. Unused creativity doesn’t just disappear. It lives within us until it’s expressed, neglected to death, or suffocated by resentment and fear.”
We will explore ways you can discover new avenues of creativity in your photography.
Your Artistic Expression
We will spend some time looking ways you can find new freedom in your unique artistic expression. You don't have to copy someone else. Be you!

"I have taken many of Kevin's classes, and what keeps me coming back is his depth of knowledge, love of his craft and ability to pass both of those along to his students. My photographs are always better as a result of taking one of his classes."
"I appreciated the "going deeper" aspect of this class ."

"I have been thinking today about all I have learned from your class. It has been such a valuable experience to be 'forced' (ie. make the time) to use my camera each week. Also, to think about white balance and exposure in general each time I take a photo. I have noticed that I use my equipment more naturally ... This has been a great experience for me."
"I learned so much more about each of the camera functions and learning how and when to use them. Feel like I understand better what I am doing."
"I wanted to send a quick email to let you know just how much I have enjoyed the class! I have been exposed to things and learned techniques that I never thought I would understand. ... I just wanted you to know, you are a fantastic teacher."
"Thanks for all your hard work and patience with me. I can't begin to tell you how much I have learned! It is amazing!"
"I have taken several classes from Kevin. Kevin has to be one of the best instructors I have ever had the pleasure of having. His knowledge of photography is second to none. He has a way of teaching that makes everyone feel comfortable and have fun learning. You will love his class!!!"
