{"id":1539,"date":"2018-01-27T22:21:47","date_gmt":"2018-01-27T22:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kgphotoworkshops.com\/blog\/?p=1539"},"modified":"2018-01-27T22:21:47","modified_gmt":"2018-01-27T22:21:47","slug":"test-drive-new-sony-a7r-iii-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kgphotoworkshops.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/27\/test-drive-new-sony-a7r-iii-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Test Drive the New Sony a7R III"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently had a chance to take the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2GmuIxJ\">Sony a7R III<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>mirrorless full-frame 42.4 megapixel camera on a &#8220;test drive.&#8221;\u00a0 This exceptional camera produces great images.\u00a0 In studio, I normally shoot with DSLRs but one thing I noticed in a test shoot with my model, Amanda, is that the focusing <strong><em>felt<\/em><\/strong> ever so slightly sluggish at times while I was shooting in the mode where the camera detects and focuses on eyes (Eye AF mode), BUT the results were impressive.\u00a0 It consistently produced sharper images and did a great job keeping eyes in focus. That, combined with the 42.4 megapixel sensor resulted in extra sharp images with fine resolution.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Sony-42-4MP-Full-frame-Mirrorless-Interchangeable-Lens\/dp\/B076TGDHPT\/ref=as_li_ss_il?ie=UTF8&amp;linkCode=li2&amp;tag=kgphotoworksh-20&amp;linkId=c6668ad7ebdeea5f47bcac2ab59522c3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&amp;ASIN=B076TGDHPT&amp;Format=_SL160_&amp;ID=AsinImage&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;WS=1&amp;tag=kgphotoworksh-20\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" src=\"https:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=kgphotoworksh-20&amp;l=li2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B076TGDHPT\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This camera has a\u00a0fast Hybrid AF with 399-point focal-plane phase-detection AF and 425-point contrast-detection AF.\u00a0 \u00a0The\u00a05-axis image stabilization with 5.5-stop exposure advantage also promises to deliver consistently sharp images.\u00a0 \u00a0The viewfinder is an approximately 3.69-million-dot Quad-VGA OLED display, making it easy to view, which I really appreciate since I am more accustomed to shooting with a DSLR.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many other fantastic features in this camera that I did not really have time to run through their paces, but I can say with certainty this is a very serious
